About Mack's Peppers
From growing peppers to making hot sauce, our passion has always started with the pepper itself.
Based in Chesterville, Ontario, Mack's Peppers began with a fascination for the incredible variety of peppers and a desire to grow varieties that were difficult to find locally.
What started as a small pepper seed business has grown into something much bigger, bringing together unique pepper varieties, homemade salsa, and flavourful hot sauces.
Our journey wasn't exactly planned. Sometimes the best things start with a few extra peppers and the right people.
Where It All Started
Our story began with pepper seeds.
We started growing peppers because we were fascinated by their incredible variety and wanted to explore varieties that were difficult to find locally. From sweet and mild peppers to some of the hottest varieties on the planet, there was always something new to discover.
What began as growing peppers for seed production became an opportunity to share that passion with other growers.
But growing peppers also meant finding creative ways to use them.
From Seeds to Salsa and Hot Sauce
Alongside our seed business, we began making salsa for local farmers' markets.
Then, one season, we found ourselves with more peppers than we needed. We put our extra harvest up for sale, and that simple decision introduced us to Fred.
Fred was making some of the best hot sauces we'd ever tasted.
What started as a connection over peppers grew into a partnership built around a shared passion for flavour, heat, and quality.
Eventually, we brought our salsa, Fred's hot sauces, and our pepper-growing experience together under Mack's Peppers.
Sometimes a few extra peppers can change everything.
More Than Just Heat
We love spicy food, but we believe a great hot sauce should offer more than just a burning sensation.
Heat is only part of the experience.
Whether it's a mild sauce you can put on just about anything or an extremely hot creation for experienced chiliheads, flavour always matters.
The same philosophy applies to our seeds. Every pepper has something unique to offer, whether it's flavour, appearance, growing characteristics, or extraordinary heat.
We don't just want to sell peppers. We want people to discover what makes them special.
